New Camera, New Pictures

Santa Came Early!!

Friday, November 28, 2008

This afternoon Andy decided to take a trip in to Kansas City to the Russian store for his tea (he drinks this every morning!). When he returned he handed me a big green bag and said "Santa came early!" As I opened the bag and saw the box, my eyes immediately filled with tears. I knew what I was seeing, but I couldn't believe it! I was speechless! A CAMERA! A super dooper camera! We had just had a conversation a few days before about getting a camera by the summer...not before Christmas!
I think I cried off and on for about 2 hours because I was soo happy! I had Ana worried there for a little while. She saw me crying and just looked at me with the sadest eyes. She even came up to me and gave me a hug...twice! Andy kept saying over and over to her "It's ok! Momma is happy! You will see...she cries alot!"
Needless to say I am soooooooo excited about my new camera! I took a couple of test shots and am amazed at how awesome the quality is! I started reading the manual....there is so much to learn! I can't wait to start taking pictures!
MY HUSBAND IS AMAZING! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

A Few of My Favorite Pics

Here are a few pictures I took a while back that I absolutely love! The bright bold colors show just how beautiful it is here during the fall! These pictures were taken in our yard with my Cannon PowerShot SD400 that Andy gave me for Christmas in 2006.

My new, yet old hobby!

Hello family & friends! A few weeks ago we had some family pictures taken. The more I looked through the proofs of our pictures, the more I realized how much I want to be the one taking them! I want to be the one capturing such beautiful faces and places. I want to share my photography with the world! As most of you know, I already take a gazillion pictures. But now I'm ready to take it further and maybe even pursue a second career in photography! Now I realize I have a long way to go for that to happen, so this is my first step! My next step is a camera. If anyone has any input or opinion about what they like, please let me know! This summer I am going to look into some photography classes to teach me the basics. As soon as I get a camera (and learn how to use it!) I'll be ready to test it out on any and everyone!
